Stabilisers consist of a hydraulically actuated pair of fins that are fitted to a vessels port and starboard mid-ship sections underwater. They are controlled by an on-board gyroscope and automatically react to the rolling movements of the vessel to create a damping effect. In other words, rolling motion is reduced considerably by the use of stabilizers, resulting in increased conflict and reduced risk of sea-sickness.
